She wanted to see the world and enjoy life as long as she could.
Her high hopes were dashed, when she caught a cold only a few weeks into her life as a vagabond.
When that cold hit it started to spiral out of control.
That was until she ended up in the ER of Hope Memorial and from what she saw of this little town it was most likely the only hospital they had.
She met the most amazing man who just so happened to be an oncologist. Dr. Xander Carlisle convinced her there was hope and he'd be there every step of the way.
She underwent chemo treatments and radiation. Almost a year later, she'd been given the news that she was cancer free.

Now that Valentina is cancer free what will she do? Why did Dr. Xander Carlisle take such an interest in her?
Find out next week on Sunday October 4th for snippet #4 of my paranormal romance Day of the Dead ~ Dia de los Muertos.

The
Day of the Dead takes on a new meaning, when the dead don't stay dead.
Dr. Valentina Bellmonte, a cancer survivor, is the new coroner at Hope
Memorial. Her faith is put to the test when a body arrives at the morgue
drained of blood and the man responsible for the crime is sporting
fangs. Could vampires be real?
Her
good friend, Dr. Xander Carlisle seems to know the truth, but he's
unwilling to confide in her. He has a secret of his own and it's not
just how he feels about her, but something else entirely, something he's
forbidden to reveal.
