"It's been a week since you started working down here. How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, great even," Valentina said with a cheery smile and hoped he believed her.

She didn't want him fussing over her, but they both knew she should feel better by now.

She didn't want to run anymore tests. She just needed to be… normal.

"I'm glad, but you'll let me know if that changes though, right?" He leveled his gaze on her as if he could read her mind.

Wanting to change the subject, Valentina glanced at the two coffees in Xander's hands.

Oh no could Valentina's good health be short lived? Could Xander read her mind?

Snippet Sunday: Day of the Dead ~ Dia de los Muertos #snippetsunday #SPeekSunday #8Sunday

Welcome Back Everyone!

Today is Snippet #6! I'm so excited to have you read it!

Today I'll be sharing a continued snippet from my newly published story Day of the Dead ~ Dia de los Muertos.
Last time we left off with tall, dark and handsome Xander coming into the morgue to see Valentina.

***Note: The snippet has been modified to fit the 8 sentence limit.***

**************************************************************************************************************************************
Over six-four, he towered over her. His gorgeous eyes were the most unusual shade of emerald green. All the nurses were head over heels with him.

Valentina remembered when she was stuck in the hospital for months and Xander would visit her, all the nurses kept coming in and out of her room, practically swooning to get a look at him.

At one point, Luis Hernandez, the only male nurse, and Valentina tried to set him up with one of the nurses, a pretty brunette with big blue eyes, but Xander hadn't been interested.

After that, Hernandez was her permanent nurse.

"Hey Xander, how's it going?"

"I was just going to ask you the same.
**************************************************************************************************************************************
Why wasn't Xander interested in any of the girls Valentina and Hernandez tried to set him up with? Maybe he is in to her.

Snippet Sunday: Day of the Dead ~ Dia de los Muertos #snippetsunday #SPeekSunday #8Sunday

Welcome Back Everyone!

Today is Snippet #5! I'm so excited to have you read it!

Today I'll be sharing a continued snippet from my newly published story Day of the Dead ~ Dia de los Muertos.

Last time we left off with Valentina making a new friend in Xander and made a new life in the little town of Hope. She found a sense of piece working in the morgue. Lets find out why.
***Note: The snippet has been modified to fit the 8 sentence limit.***

*******************************************************************************************************
In there she had a handle on things. She knew what she was doing.
She controlled the outcome of what happened and it felt so good to have a purpose. The morgue was separated into sections.
An area designated for the autopsy and storage units.
The other half had two desks that she shared with the full time coroner, a couch for lounging or sleeping if the nights became too long, and a coffee machine in the corner.
"Hi gorgeous," Xander said as he strolled in through the morgue's swinging doors.
He shot her the sweetest smile. Xander was tall, dark and handsome.
*******************************************************************************************************
Did Xander just call her gorgeous? I think maybe Xander has a crush on Valentina.

Snippet Sunday: Day of the Dead ~ Dia de los Muertos #snippetsunday #SPeekSunday #8Sunday

Welcome Back Everyone!

Today is Snippet #4! I'm so excited to have you read it!

Today I'll be sharing a continued snippet from my newly published story Day of the Dead ~ Dia de los Muertos.

Last time we left Valentina was cancer free and she owed it all to Dr Xander Carlisle. Let's see what she is up to know.

***Note: The snippet has been modified to fit the 8 sentence limit.***

*************************************************************************************
However, cancer free didn't mean she could run a marathon any time soon. She hadn't improved as fast as she would have expected.

Working full time would prove too difficult a feat for her, but her oncologist, Dr. Carlisle
finagled a job for her down in the morgue as a part time coroner.

Dr. Carlisle or Xander—he was adamant that she called him by his first name now that she was no longer his patient. They had become good friends.

He was a person she could rely on when there had been no one else.

With her new found health, her friendship with Xander and her great job, she could keep her life going forward. The morgue brought her a sense of peace.
*************************************************************************************

Glad to see Valentina is doing better with this new job of hers but will this new found peace in the work place last?
